Blocked Storm Drain Creates Overflow in Holly Springs

In Holly Springs there are areas that have experienced flooding due to the heavy rain.  One such area in particular is a residential area on Craft St.  crews have been investigating three storm pipes in a resident’s yard as a possible problem, in addition to, a clay pipe drain.  The workers are in the process of investigating small sinkholes that appear to be caused by collapsing joints of the pipeline. There is also concern regarding a tree that is blocking the drain in a resident’s driveway and is suspected to have roots sunk into the pipe. After a heavy rainfall, workers will analyze the pipe to determine where and which pipes have sustained blockages. Fun fact:Tennessee aquarium is home to the largest freshwater aquarium in the entire world, with over 7,000 animals housed in the entire complex. Memphis, SAVE THE DATE!! Turtle Park Sewer Detail

Residents of Oak Ridge, the task of rehabilitating your sewer is in full swing this month. The City has been working to make the needed repairs to many areas of Turtle Park. This has been an ongoing project, which includes a long list of homes that are included in these enhancements to the sewer system. The scope of this renovation will be vast and encompasses pipelines within yards, roadways and City easements. Homeowners can expect the completion of construction to be next month. Some of the repairs being made involve 34 point repairs of existing gravity sewers, installation of 20 new manhole frames and covers and rehabilitation of 1,200 vertical feet of existing sanitary sewer manholes, to name a few. It is recommended to use precautions when travelling in and around Turtle Park. This work was first initiated by the EPA as a remediation plan, based on the coordination of analysis on sanitary sewer overflows. Rainy Season and Sewer Drainage Systems

Many of us are experiencing a rainy season now that summer is in full swing.  Along with the sunny delights and fanfare this time of year brings, there is also a need to think about the proper functioning of our drainage systems where we live.  It is important to know to what extent a drainage issue is prevalent.  In order to do this, a qualified fully licensed professional is needed for drain pipe cleaning. This will also maximize your awareness of the health of the pipelines in your home.  Here are a few suggestions when seeking the help of an expert: 1. Get referrals from people you know.  Word of mouth advertising speaks volumes on the overall satisfaction of previous jobs. 2. Check for a license to operate within your state. 3. Memphis is Smoking

Memphis is Smoking

Residents of Memphis, you may have already received a note on your door.  The city has been conducting the ‘smoke’ tests required by the EPA to locate leaky sewer pipes and to access the entire structure of the sanitary sewer system.  The idea is to locate and repair faulty pipes. This is necessary every10 years to ensure the underground infrastructure is working at its best capacity.  According to the plan, the smoke is not hazardous to your health and residents should not be worried as it poses no harm. It consists of LiquiSmoke.  However, the City says if you see smoke coming up from the ground, you’ve got a leaky pipe that needs repair. The one commonality workers are finding in the pipes, during these tests is in a word…grease.  A friendly reminder not to pour grease of any kind down the sink.  It’s best to dispose of it in a can, after it’s cooled just put it in the trash.  There can be significant improvements to the life of the underground sewer pipelines if proper disposal measures are taken Citywide. Memphis is full of historic sites and landmarks. Among these well-known areas sits Germantown.  This neighborhood is filled with beautiful, Victorian style buildings. It is Nashville’s first subdivision and was placed on the National register of historic places in 1979.  Thanks to the dedication of our residents this town was preserved and is now a vibrant and flourishing neighborhood.  Here at Perma-liner Industries we are invested in keeping historic residential areas operating to the best of our abilities with our trenchless pipelining system.  We offer state of the art Cured in Place rehabilitation all while protecting the landscaping of your home.  Call us or go online to www.perma-liner.com   SAVE THE DATE!!
